Sit Back and Relax

I came across this great visual which shows both candidate's proposed tax plans. While they both seem to be honest about their plans (Obama lowering taxes for 95% of Americans and McCain lowering taxes for everyone)...it's a bit shocking to see how disproportionating McCain plans to give tax breaks to the wealthy. I mean, I guess I should know better than to expect any different...but it really pisses me off that McCain & Palin take every single opportunity to try and say that "Obama will raise taxes, which will kill jobs." Have they just never taken a closer look? My guess is they simply choose to ignore the facts to try and scare people into voting for them. Absolutely appalling, in my opinion. I get that it's politics and that it's going to get dirty...but if you could not flat out lie to the general public, that would be great.

Which brings me to a whole 'nother rant....Sarah Palin has repeatedly said to reporters that she's "happy to have been cleared of any wrong doing." That is blantantly false. NO--you haven't been cleared of wrong doing. In fact, it was clearly stated that you misused your power. Now you don't have to agree with that, but don't just pretend it didn't happen.

That's it for now! Please pass this graph around to your friends and family. Especially if you have some undecided in the bunch. I think it's important for people to see exactly what each candidate plans to do for them.

jeff is 6 days into a 10 day trip to China. i'm such a miserable bum without him...it's lame. i am finished with the last Harry Potter book, which i've been reading to distract myself. i wish he would hurry up and come home. i mean, i'm so happy that he's getting this experience...but i'm so co-dependent it's ridic.

in other news, my tennis skillz are improving now that i'm playing once a week. yay for exercise!

it was 75 degrees and sunny here yesterday. i couldn't help myself and i left work early. i got home at 5pm, it was still light out and very warm...so i took the dogs for a walk by the ocean and let them play in the park. it was great.

we have a new 42" hdtv and its amazing. we also got a blu-ray player and i'm totally spoiled now. i seriously watch regular dvd's and i wonder what's wrong with the picture. a word to the wise, don't switch over until you're ready to become a tv snob...srsly.

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

jeff emailed my family and asked if there was a holiday meal he could make me that would help me feel like i was "home for the holidays", even in California.

everyone replied with "squash soup"--with is my mom's christmas eve tradition and my FAVorite.

so yesterday i came home from work to a steaming pot of squash soup...and it was delicious :) it was the sweetest sentiment!

i lurve him.

I can't believe it's already December! I'm starting to get in the Xmas spirit. Jeff and I put up our tree and decorations this weekend. I even have a December cold, oh joy. We aren't going home this year which will be quite a change. I'm looking forward to a relaxing time with our good friends and their brand new baby-to-be.

Yesterday I went to the opera with Bill. We saw Don Giovanni. I was a little sketch about going b/c I was afraid I would hate it. I actually had a pretty good time and the company was terrific. We ate a fancy dinner afterwards and enjoyed being in downtown LA.

Tonight, Jeff and I are doing a "team building" event with all the Belkin Power peeps at the Staples center. I could care less about hockey...but it's a fun group and I'm sure we'll have a great time.

Other than that...not a whole lot going on. We've been watching lots of Smallville and Grey's Anatomy (old seasons). It's good timing with the Writer's Strike and all.

I'm just really thankful for all that I have and I feel so darn lucky and happy. My relationship with Jeff is just beyond words. It's so much more than I ever expected or really knew I could feel. Just really effin' happy!!!

We're going camping on the beach in Malibu tomorrow with our friends Jon & Jen. I hope I don't freeze my bum at night!!!

Mazzy is seriously being the wildest dog this morning. She was playing like crazy...then she slowed down and walked in slow, slow motion over to Toby. I was watching her because I thought something must be wrong for her to be moving so slow. Then, she just suddenly snapped back into action and attacked Toby. LOL. She's a constant source of entertainment.

it's Apple's latest release and its a pretty sweet computer. It took me about 5 minutes to complete the little offer thing, the only thing I would suggest is using a hotmail email address or one that you don't care too much about because I wouldn't be surprised if you get some spam mail but that's how they are able to give you a free computer. Anyhow, click the link, follow the directions, and wait patiently for a newer, faster, better computer THAT'S NOT WINDOWS :)
